9 Days Rwanda and Tanzania Safari

Arrival at the Kigali International Airport (KGL) and meet Alba Wonders Africa driver guide for a warm welcome to Rwanda. Today, you will be transferred to a hotel in the vibrant Kigali city and have a relaxed evening. Time permitting, you will pay a visit to some of the local markets in the city and also the art galleries where Rwanda’s traditional crafts are showcased. Later in the evening, you will have a close interaction with our experts as we go through the 9 Days Tanzania and Rwanda safari itinerary.

Have an early morning breakfast and proceed with a rewarding Kigali city tour. Today, expect a complete immersion in Kigali city, where you will be exploring the Kigali genocide memorial and other sites. From Kigali, be ready to transfer to Volcanoes National Park, which is lying in the Northern Province and this will take about 2-3 hours’ drive. A 4x4 tourist vehicle will be availed for your road trip for the entire tour.

Gorilla trekking experience will be the main highlight as per today’s excursions. First, you will assemble at the Kinigi to be briefed by the Volcanoes National Park official. Learn more about gorilla trekking guidelines then get a group of gorillas to visit and this will be allocated to you. The ranger guides will also be present and each group of 8 visitors will be led by one guide.

Expect to begin the trekking adventure at around 8:00 am and your excursion will run for 2-6 hours. After a long search for mountain gorillas, expect to spend a maximum of 1 hour to observe their behaviors and taking pictures. Later, begin walking back at a moderate pace as you keep attention on other species. Late afternoon session will mainly focus on cultural immersion at the Iby’Iwacu Village then have overnight in the lodge.

Meet the expert and transfer to the Ellen DeGeneres Gorilla Fun Campus to explore more about conservation efforts to save gorillas. You will come across experienced researchers and conservationists to interact with and share more insights about the project.

Today, you will be picked up and transferred to Kigali Airport to catch with morning flight. You will be connecting to the Serengeti National Park which lies in the Northern circuit of Tanzania. Have a relaxed stay in the finest safari lodge/camp in the vast plains of Serengeti.

End the day in the Ngorongoro Crater as you embark on a game drive to see the unique species at the crater’s base.

Ngorongoro is most famous for its Big 5 game, wildebeests, zebras, hyenas, and gazelles, and it also holds over 550 bird species. After the afternoon game drive, your entire evening will be spent in the lodge.
