6 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari
6 Days Uganda safari offers a captivating chimpanzee tracking and gorilla trekking adventure. On each of these primate adventures, expect to enjoy unique encounters of primates. To start with, chimpanzee tracking will be carried out from Kibale National Park and you will explore more about chimpanzees.
Gorilla trekking will be done with experts in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will visit a region or sector as guided by the gorilla permit you secured. To be guided, the 4 sectors in Bwindi National Park all have fully habituated gorilla groups and include Buhoma, Rushaga, Nkuringo, and Ruhija.
Beyond primate adventures, expect to experience the best guided game drives and boat excursions in the scenic Queen Elizabeth National Park. At Queen Elizabeth National Park, expect to find a range of wildlife in the savanna plains including leopards, elephants, lions, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, buffaloes, antelope families, and bird species.
Brief Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up & Travel to Kibale
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day 3: Kasenyi game drive and Boat/Launch cruise on the Kazinga channel
Day 4: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via Ishasha
Day 5: Embark on mountain gorilla trekking & Batwa cultural tour in the evening
Day 6: Return trip to Kampala/Entebbe with Equator crossing experience
Detailed Itinerary
Early morning, set off from Entebbe or Kampala to Western Uganda in a 4x4 safari vehicle and today, you will be visiting Kibale National Park. Kibale is where your chimpanzee tracking tour will be enjoyed and the Park has a record of 13 primate species including a total of 1500 chimpanzees. It is here where the highest profusion of chimpanzees and other primates resides. Getting to Kibale is easier on the Kampala-Mityana-Mubende-Fort –Fort Portal route, which takes between 5 and 6 hours. Before you get to Kibale National Park, you have an en route lunch break in Fort Portal.

Travel time covered: 5-6 hours.
Today’s morning is fully dedicated for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale, and expect to visit one of the habituated communities of chimpanzees. You will be transferred to the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre to meet the Uganda Wildlife Authority officials from Kibale and be taken through the guidelines for chimpanzee tracking. The actual briefing begins after you have registered and cleared from the reservations desk.
At around 8:00 am, you will set foot into the scenic Kibale Forest to enjoy your 2-4 hours search for the chimpanzees. Observing and photography with chimps will be had during the 1 hour that is given to all guests. After this moment, expect to walk back with the lead of the park ranger guide and proceed to the lodge to have an early lunch.
Check out of Kibale lodges and in the afternoon, transfer by road to Queen Elizabeth Game Park located in Kasese, which also extends to other districts like Rukungiri. Pass through Kasese town while enjoying the breathtaking views of the Rwenzori Mountains, and proceed to Kikorongo for the Equator stopover.Leave Kikorongo for Queen Elizabeth Park, where you will check in the lodge. Have a long evening relaxing, enjoy the stunning views, and some free-roaming wildlife, etc.

Day 3: Kasenyi game drive and Boat/Launch cruise on the Kazinga channel
Have an early morning breakfast then proceed with the Kasenyi guided game drive about 2-3 hours. In a comfortable 4x4 rental car and experienced guide, head towards the Northern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park to search for diverse wild animals ranging from elephants, buffalo, lions, hyenas, warthogs, antelopes, and many birds.
Start driving back to the lodge after great sightings and you will be provided lunch. Depart from the lodge and your afternoon coves guided launch or boat cruise. Different aquatic species live along the Kazinga channel, and a boat cruise is the best way to spot most of them, including hippos, crocodiles, and water birds.

After a hefty breakfast, start your journey to Bwindi in the morning, driving via the Ishasha sector in the south. Ishasha connects you to the Northern sector of Bwindi, that is the Buhoma region. But first, expect to have a short game viewing session where you will search for the tree-climbing lions and other animals.

Warm yourself with a hot cup of tea/coffee, and you will report to Buhoma for registration and briefing. Get to know essential rules and regulations for gorilla trekking in Buhoma, and then a gorilla group will be assigned to you. Your gorilla trek begins at around 8:00 am, taking between 2 and 6 hours, but this is inclusive of 1 hour for visitors to interact with gorillas.
A gorilla trekking certificate will be given upon return to the park offices, and later, you head back to the lodge for relaxation. Leave the lodge once again and proceed to the Batwa to experience unique cultural dances, learn distinct cultures, and traditions from the Batwa pygmies –the forest dwellers.

Today, your focus will be on having a hot cup of tea/coffee and checking out. Start driving back to Kampala/Entebbe, and en route, you have a photography session at the Kayabwe equator crossing.
