Embark on our 6-Day Uganda and Rwanda double gorilla trekking tour, a thrilling travel itinerary that brings you the best of Uganda and Rwanda. This is typically a nature-based itinerary introducing you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Volcanoes National Park for you to enjoy a gorilla trekking adventure. Bwindi and Volcanoes offer a double mountain gorilla encounter and also include a city tour plus cultural experiences.
Brief Itinerary
Day 1: Safe Arrival & Pick up from Entebbe
Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi through the Kampala-Mbarara route
Day 3: Gorilla trekking plus Batwa pygmies’ village tour
Day 4: Bwindi –Volcanoes through Chanika/Katuna
Day 5: Volcanoes gorilla trekking & Gorilla guardian village
Day 6: Transfer to Kigali, City tour & depart
Detailed Itinerary
Upon arrival at Entebbe, meet and greet your driver guide from Alba Wonders Africa. Later, you will be directed to the safari car for you to be transferred to your respective hotels in the cool Entebbe City. At the hotel, have a great moment from our expert as we go through the itinerary together to prepare you for tomorrow’s journey.

Wake up early to enjoy breakfast, and today, you will be leaving Entebbe for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Set off to Bwindi in a 4WD tour vehicle, and the entire journey will cover about 8-9 hours. Interestingly, expect great insights en route, including the equator crossing photography at Kayabwe and lunch break at the Igongo. Leave Igongo for Bwindi, navigating via the breathtaking hillside of the Kigezi region.

Travel time: 8-9 hours
Enjoy a tasty cup of tea/coffee at the camp/lodge then proceed to Buhoma region/sector to register and later join the rest for briefing. At around 8:00 am, you will set foot on the gorilla trekking trail to officially start the search for gorillas, and this is expected to last for 2-6 hours. Upon locating the assigned gorilla group, you will be allowed to interact with these apes for a maximum of one hour, then you will walk back. A gorilla trekking certificate will be awarded then you continue up to the lodge to chill.
The Batwa pygmies’ community visit will follow later in the afternoon. At the Batwa community, you will interact with the Batwa pygmies themselves, learn their unique traditions, and cultures. After the Batwa cultural tour, you will return to the lodge to spend the rest of the evening.

Leave Bwindi after a leisurely breakfast, and today, you will have a border crossing via Katuna/Chanika. Connect to Volcanoes National Park to check in your accommodation as you wait to embark on the 2nd gorilla trekking adventure.

Volcanoes National Park has 13 groups of gorillas, and today, you will be allowed to visit only one family. You will be accompanied by an experienced ranger guide from Rwanda’s Volcanoes, and you will spend another hour with mountain gorillas. Later, begin returning to the lodge to relax. In the afternoon, there will be a chance to experience the Banyarwanda cultures and traditions in the Gorilla Guardian Village.

Have a leisurely breakfast, and after, you will be transferred to Kigali, where you will continue with a city tour. The Kigali city tour takes you to amazing places like the Gisozi genocide memorial, craft shops, and local markets. Continue to the hotel/restaurant to have lunch, then later, you will be dropped off at the Kigali International Airport for departure.
