The Masai Mara is Kenya’s premier wildlife destination and an excellent spot to witness the Big 5 and the Great Migration. This reserve is one of the largest protected areas in Kenya, with an area coverage of 1510 sq. km, and is dominated by the savanna plains. Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru National Park offer amazing bird sightings, especially if you are interested in the pink flamingos.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Visit Masai Mara National Park

Today marks the start your 5 days Kenya wildlife safari, and you will be transferred to the Maasai Mara. The Masai Mara lies in Narok County, and you will have a scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley. Getting to the Maasai Mara takes between 5 and 6 hours starting from Nairobi. On arrival, you will check into your respective lodges for relaxation and enjoy an afternoon lunch break.

Take a guided game drive late in the afternoon to look for some of the amazing wildlife in Kenya’s premier nature reserve –the Masai Mara. This reserve is famous for its great encounters with leopards, buffaloes, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, wildebeest, lions, hyenas, bushbucks, duikers, and many birds. Return to the wilderness camp/lodge to relax and have an overnight.

Day 2: Spend a full day in the Maasai Mara.

Your full-day wildlife adventure begins today, and you will wind through the Masai Mara National Reserve in a 4x4 safari vehicle. Spending the entire day in the Masai Mara allows you to encounter a diversity of wildlife and other birds. Today’s encounters in Maasai Mara will range from the Big 5, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, hyenas, Thomson’s & Grant’s gazelles, etc. A variety of birds also exists here, and you expect to identify several during the guided wildlife viewing tour. Today’s session primarily includes game viewing with a picnic lunch, and you will only return late in the afternoon to have dinner plus overnight.

Day 3: Pick up & transfer to Lake Naivasha.

At leisure, enjoy a delicious breakfast, and after, you will be transferred to Lake Naivasha. Arrive early and expect to enjoy a boat ride for you to spot diversity of wildlife- hippos, and birds including flamingos. After the boat cruise, return to have a great moment in your lodge/resort in Lake Naivasha.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park tour

Depart from Naivasha to Lake Nakuru, home to millions of colorful pink flamingos. At Lake Nakuru National Park, you will have an evening guided game drive. A wide range of wildlife awaits you to encounter, including zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, gazelles, spotted hyenas, leopards, waterbucks, and many others.
