This single trip combines unique savanna wildlife experiences in Kenya and mountain gorilla trekking in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and chimp tracking in Kibale National Park. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & travel to Entebbe for relaxation.

Meet our driver guide at the airport premises, and you will be transferred straight to the hotel in Entebbe, located about 10 10-minute drive. Have a long evening to yourself for relaxation, go through the itinerary with our representative, and rest for the night.

Day 2: Pick up from Entebbe & drive to Kibale for primate tour

Start the early morning with an expertly prepared breakfast, then meet your driver guide. After packing your luggage into the 4WD vehicle, begin your journey to Kibale National Park, which is about a 6-hour drive from Entebbe. The route will take you via Mityana-Mubende and then Fort Portal-Kamwenge. Lunch is included and will be enjoyed in Fort Portal City before proceeding to Kibale.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and connect to Bwindi via Kasese

Head out to Kanyanchu Tourist Center for briefing on chimpanzee tracking rules. At around 8:00 am, depart from Kanyanchu with the ranger guide to begin trekking with Kibale chimpanzees. You will be escorted to explore one of the 4 habituated chimpanzee communities and a maximum of one hour is guaranteed for up close encounter plus taking pictures. Walk back while keeping eyes on a number of other primates and birds that live in Kibale Forest.

Continue to the lodge for an early lunch break, after which your journey to Bwindi begins, which takes about 6-7 hours. Along the way, pause for a photography session at the Kikorongo Equator Monument, then continue your scenic drive to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector. In Ishasha, known for tree-climbing lions, you may spot various mammals during a short game drive as you exit Queen Elizabeth National Park for the Buhoma sector.

Day 4: Experience the Bwindi gorilla trek with a Batwa community tour

The Bwindi gorilla trekking session will start with a briefing at the Buhoma region. Get a gorilla group to track and a ranger guide to lead you. Expect to leave Buhoma at around 8:00 am for 2-6 hours guided trek to explore mountain gorillas. Enjoy a maximum of 1 hour set mainly for you to observe the unique behaviors of mountain gorillas and take photos.

After returning from viewing the gorillas, take some time to rest, then in the late afternoon set out on a Batwa community visit with a local guide. Here, you will learn in depth about the Batwa, their unique cultures, traditions, and practices.

Day 5: Fly to Entebbe Airport & connect to Nairobi

After breakfast, you will be expected at the Kihihi Airstrip 45 minutes earlier. This is to let you catch up with your departing flight to Entebbe Airport then fly to Nairobi. At the Nairobi Airport, our ground Kenyan guide will be present to collect you and transfer you to the hotel for relaxation.

Day 6: Pick up from Nairobi and drive to Lake Nakuru

Have a delicious breakfast and later, head out to Lake Nakuru National Park to watch millions of colorful pink flamingos and lots of pelicans. Arrive early for you to check in, have rest, have lunch, and after, proceed with the afternoon game viewing. The diverse animals to expect to find here include black and white rhinos, elands, waterbucks, zebras, lions, and Rothschild giraffes.

Day 7: Leave Nakuru for the Maasai Mara to see wildebeests

Depart from Lake Nakuru on an exciting guided game drive that allows you to spot more wildlife, including morning risers. Continue to the Masai Mara, where you will be dropped off at the wilderness camp/lodge for relaxation.

Day 8: Spend a full day on a game drive in the Masai Mara

Lunch break will be offered in the wilderness, or you will first return to the lodge after the first session of the game drive.

Day 9: A hot air balloon experience & Maasai Community visit

Embark on a hot air balloon tour, which comes with a delicious breakfast. Enjoy aerial game viewing in the open savanna plains as you enjoy sightings of scenic Masai Mara, including elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and wildebeests. Lunch break will be at the lodge, then you can proceed with the afternoon game drive shortly then visit the Maasai village for a cultural experience.

Day 10: Pick up and drive back to Nairobi

After breakfast at leisure, you will exit the Maasai Mara for Nairobi City, about 6 hours’ drive. Arrive at Nairobi in time for you to settle for lunch, then continue to the Jomo Kenyatta Airport for a late afternoon/evening departure flight.
